Thanks for joining me! Sadly, we were all not given the same opportunities and choices in life. Different doors divide us. We do the best with what we are given.
What is less understood is that the opportunities and choices of those that preceded us laid the foundation for us today. Redlining, blacklisting, discrimination, investments, underwriting, etc. compounded over time helped to establish the boundaries of the world that we navigate today. Maps are a tool to help us better understand what happened in the past and also a tool to help us advocate for a better world for our future.
